We have had ‘snippets’ of good news over the past 24-hours, the latest of which is the news that Marko Futacs has extended his contract.

The 12-month extension, as he told The News, has been exercised by Pompey: ‘it has been done. Marko probably doesn’t know about it but it has been done.

‘You may think I’m probably being a bit crafty with this one and maybe I was. But I knew that I was going to involve Marko at some point because I was impressed with him.

‘So I sat down with his agent two weeks before he was in the first team. I spoke to Marko’s agent again on Thursday, so there’s not a problem.

‘I am sure he will be happy enough over the next week or so. Don’t worry about it, Marko will be around for a while. He won’t be leaving here.’

If nothing else at least we have the Hungarian tied down for the next 18-months, so at least we will not run the risk of losing him on a free this summer!

Not such good news is the fact that PFCTV is no more…

Well, it has been ‘suspended’ at least.

This is not the first time, in recent years, that we have lost our club TV channel – having done so with the old pfcTV, which was resurrected in full under CSI this season.

Portsmouth LiveTV has been ‘unable to fulfil its obligations to provide a service’ as The Pompey Site told in a statement this afternoon.

Full details are below…

PFCTV Suspended

We regret to inform you that PFCTV has been suspended due to matters beyond the control of Portsmouth Football Club.

The provision of the PFCTV service is outsourced to a separate company, Portsmouth LiveTV, which has been unable to fulfil its obligations to provide a service. We understand this is because they have run into financial difficulties. This includes debts to Portsmouth Football Club.

We are very sorry for the loss of PFCTV and are currently working on building a replacement Pompey video and matchday commentary service, run in-house to give supporters the quality of coverage they deserve.

We acknowledge that over the past few weeks subscribers have not been given the service that their subscription warrants and as a result we plan a complimentary introductory offer to those existing subscribers who sign up to the new service.

In the interim we will be adding additional, free-to-access content on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/officialpfc/.

For those of you who pay a monthly subscription to PFCTV, you may wish to consider contacting your bank/credit card company to cancel your direct debit.

For those who have paid an annual subscription to PFCTV, we will do all we can to assist you in recovering your monies.

We will keep you informed of developments about the launch of the new service which we are working to get online as soon as possible and once again we apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused.

The latest sorry chapter in the history of Portsmouth Football Club eh…
