To be honest, as much as I love Portsmouth Football club we have been mentioned in the past as being among the clubs offering the least amount of space to our disabled supporters, so the news that we have increased this for the new season is fantastic news.

This is what the Pompey Site has said on this issue…

MORE SEATS FOR DISABLED SUPPORTERS

More disabled fans than ever will be able to enjoy watching Pompey at Fratton Park.

The club has created nine extra spaces for wheelchair users and their carers in the Fratton End.

But this couldn’t have happened without the support of some very understanding season ticket holders, who agreed to be relocated to other areas of the stand.

This expansion of this area means Fratton Park can accommodate up to 50 disabled supporters, including five spaces for visiting fans.

Allison McNeil, Pompey’s disabled liaison officer, said: ‘It’s great news for our fans.

‘We want to make football at Fratton Park more accessible to all of our supporters, regardless of their physical condition.

‘This is another sign of the continued progress that is being undertaken at Portsmouth Football Club.’
