Defoe was the one for Pompey

Jermain Defoe was the striker that I would have most wanted at Pompey last week! Not my vote, yours – although these findings from Chix’s poll are thoughts that I could, with many probably thinking I would have shared, but did not entirely to be honest

I had been one of the ‘Defoe to Pompey’ believers, as well as had wanted all summer long, but it has not come off, well not during the transfer window just shut anyway, but it still might early in 2008?

My vote actually went to Leroy Lita; as to be honest I felt that he could have been a more realistic target that could have signed had we moved for him, so I tried to base my vote from a more realistic angle.

Clearly I would not have been against almost any of the names mentioned, or others, but just felt that Lita could have been a more plausible option, but as it was we got no striker at all, we will have to wait until January for this but this gives the current strikers a chance to shine, which I do not see as a bad thing to be honest.

What the poll asked – We didn’t get him, but which of the strikers rumoured or linked is/was the one most wanted?

How you voted – Defoe 45%, Anelka 22%, Lita 12%, Crouch 9%, Other 4%, Del Piero 3%, Kanoute 2%, Adriano 2%, Bianchi %

Current Poll – Vital Pompey has enjoyed a rapid rise in recent months, establishing itself as one of the top places for many Pompey fans to hang out in cyberworld.

The hard work from myself and the other Vital Pompey site journalists – past and present – have put in, not to mention the support from you, the sites fellowship, has helped get Vital Pompey to where it is – but there is more to come.

But how exactly did you hear about ‘the no.1 Pompey fans site’ – not my words, the words of pompey4me’s who wants to know the answer to this – ‘where did you hear about Vital Pompey, the no.1 Pompey fans site?’ Let the poll do the talking before we do when it finishes.
