Portsmouth striker Danijel Subotic kicks off his new website with his thoughts on Pompey after six months at Fratton Park.

“I have been in Portsmouth for just over six months now. When I was at FC Basel I received a letter from Portsmouth, inviting me to train with them. So I went there one week from Monday to Friday and I obviously made a good impression. I talked to Harry Redknapp and in the next week they gave me a professional contract.

“I have played for the reserves a lot since arriving here. At the beginning I didn’t think about where I was playing, be it in the first team or the reserves, I just wanted to play for Portsmouth. I am impressed at the quality of reserve-team football – it’s the same as playing in the Premiership in Switzerland. After three or four reserve games I had the feeling that okay, maybe I could play for the first-team now. I am going to keep on giving my best in every game and hopefully I will break into the first team.

“A lot of people still haven’t seen me play. I don’t know if I am similar to anyone else. I want to have my own style, to be myself. But maybe I am a bit like Kanu. I like Kanu. He is a big lad and I think he has got great skill, great moves. He is a brilliant striker.”
