Damned if you do, damned if you don’t

It seems that regardless to what happens there is rarely a ray of light these days with Pompey?

Would this be fair to say…

Last week we had a canary singing without a name put to it and today Aaron Mokoena, who to his credit has the balls to put his name to the questions he asks, has called for answers from the clubs owners.

Mokoena, who of course recently ‘committed his future to the club’, has told The Daily Star that the club is in ‘chaos’ and has called for some answers to stabilise the players: ‘it’s chaos. No-one knows what’s happening and it’s destabilising the players.

‘This club needs to be saved and to stay in the Premier League.

‘The players feel we need to be told what the situation is so we can focus on that.

‘We haven’t met the new owners and we don’t really know who they are exactly. It’s unacceptable that I’m playing for Portsmouth but I don’t know who the owner is!

‘I’m shocked by it. If you buy a club, you should meet the staff. But it hasn’t happened and I can’t see it happening any time soon.’

I guess to say ‘chaos’ is a fair assumption, but is it totally disorganised chaos or is there some form of organisation to it, as much as chaos can be organised!

All that ANY of us want is a resolution to what is going on – we have been told things ‘should’ be turning around in the next week or so, or at least it is hinted that this is the case, so all we can do is wait and see?

But ‘waiting and seeing’ is something that we have seemingly done for so many months…

I suspect that most of us continue to see our heads spinning as you hear things left right and centre – oh for an easy life eh!

Exactly what is going on is anybody’s guess now, and regardless to what any of us think NONE of us do know what is happening do we – sitting and waiting is not nice, but with this month, and the early part of it always thought to be the time that would answer so much is this not what we should wait and do for a tiny while longer?

We might not be seeing ‘physical signs’ of things happening, i.e. embargoes lifted, players arriving, roofs put onto stands – to appease people, but ‘perhaps’ those fires that needed fighting are actually being put out in the background, who knows, as I say none of us actually know what is going on, we might know what is not going on but none of us know why not.

Granted it IS unacceptable that players and staff are not paid on time, this is a fundamental issue that should be seen to regardless to what is going on in the background, and we should know who our owner is but in many ways those ‘running’ the club now are damned if they do, and damned if they don’t!

When people have spoken recently people jump on it and say it is rubbish or not something they believe, or it is looked at with the view that it gives more questions than answers and does not actually give any answers at all. If they say nothing they are lamented for this.

Something clearly needs to happen, and positively, to ‘settle the players down’ yet when all is said and done the ones that will ALWAYS feel things more are us as we do not move on, we remain so ‘stabilising’ us is an essential thing too, so will we finally see some physical signs of this in the week ahead…
