Cup final man of the match

‘Aaron Mokoena was Pompey’s man of the match in the FA cup final’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from NZ_Portsmuff’s poll are thoughts that would agree with I think…

In all honesty I do not think that many players from either side really stood out, but was that because the two sides cancelled each other out? Or was it the pitch really preventing any real football being played? Maybe it was a bit of both?

Although I thought that our defence really shone, again, big time!

Rocha John Rocha and Mokoena’s central defensive pairing really stood up to the test again with David James making some fantastic saves, so all 3 of these would have been right up there for me – then again I thought Hayden Mullins had a good game at left back too.

I think I would agree with Moko though, just about, and I think the thing that tipped it in his favour for me were the defensive blocks that he produced to deny Nicolas Anelka, not once but twice within quick succession – that summed up what Moko is all about for me, so I hope to have him and Rocha John Rocha, along with Jamo behind them, forming the heart of our defence next season, although time will tell on that one…
