Finally, hopefully, we can get back to talking about football – even if it is just for a while – as we have our FA cup 3rd round reply against Coventry tomorrow night, and this WILL go ahead according to Coventry officials…

Despite weather conditions affecting so many games at the weekend Coventry were able to play their championship game at the weekend and they remain confident, with Anthony Mundy – facilities director at the Ricoh Arena – telling the official Coventry site that the game will go ahead: ‘the FA Cup tie against Portsmouth is definitely on unless there are any major changes to the weather – but that is not predicted.

‘The ground staff and stewards worked through the night on Friday to make sure the pitch was playable and the car-parks and pavements cleared.

‘We have received numerous emails from supporters, and in particular disabled fans, praising our efforts to make the pathways as snow and frost free as possible.

‘These efforts will again be repeated ahead of the game. The car-parks have been covered by the snow which fell on Sunday night but these will be gritted in time for kick-off.

‘We have never had a game postponed at the Ricoh Arena since we moved here in 2005 and that is a record we are determined to continue.’

So, it is looking good for Pompey playing a game, which seems an age ago since the last one against Coventry!

Now I just have the problem of getting there myself – at this point in time Ken is unable to even get off his drive, so we are looking 50:50 at best I would guess…
