It looks as though, in the coming weeks, we will see some movement as far as players coming in to Fratton goes – which is positive news to hear.

David Lampitt confirmed on Wednesday that loanees would arrive and ‘minimal’ money ‘could’ be available, although expecting too much should not be expected.

Good news has come today that Greg Halford WILL return to Pompey on loan for the rest of the season once his suspension is served – this weekend will represent a 2nd of the 3 games he is out for.

Mick McCarthy had already agreed the deal and Steve Cotterill, talking to The News today, confirmed that the 26-year-old is coming back ‘for sure’ as he does not foresee any issues with this deal going through as planned.

Cotterill also said that a ‘versatile defender’, who can play anywhere across the backline – and at a push in midfield – was being chased and a midfielder is also being sought with players in mind, although they will not arrive, if they even do, just yet.

Fingers crossed that we can have these players come through the Fratton gates in the not too distant future…
