Cobblers bring the curtain down on 2017

Well, another year comes to an end; well, in a footballing sense today.

Defeat to Shrewsbury sent us into Christmas on a downer. However, Pompey recovered well against Wimbledon on Tuesday – admittedly all three points would have been expected against the Dons, which eventually came.

Northampton, another side struggling at the wrong end of the League One table, come to Fratton when a further three point return would be expected, which should it come could be enough to take the Blues into the top six into a play off spot?

I do not want to say we will win, but I certainly hope Pompey can and I do have a positive feeling three points will be gained to end the year on a high.

If we’re to seriously challenge for promotion again this season – not something I overly expected going into the season but did hope momentum could be carried forward – then I do feel the points should be taken from the Cobblers.

Yep, I’m going for a home win. 3-1 maybe even 4-1…perhaps too optimistic though?!
