Captain Mokoena?

With Sylvain Distin finally admitting that he wants out – do not let the door hit you in the arse on the way out, with him now all but an Everton player, this means that we need a new captain…

In all honesty I do not think that we have that many candidates jumping out at us.

Of course David James has the experience and commands respect, but for me I do not like a keeper as the captain.

Younes Kaboul has the apparent commitment and has captained France at U21 level – so is a prime candidate, although for me his problem, which I hope is behind him, is staying fit…

The Herminator without a doubt has the quality, the experience and the passion to be a captain but I am not sure if he will be a regular first choice pick to be honest?

Then we have new boy Aaron Mokoena. The guy has years and years of experience of captaining South Africa – he has a wealth of experience as it is and to be fair has really said the right things since his arrival. His attitude has been top class and I also think he has proven a better quality signing than most would have thought – yep he is limited as to what he does but what he does he does very well.

For me, and maybe not something that all would agree with, I would go for Mokoena to be honest.

But who would you go for, I guess more to the point who do we think Paul Hart will go for?
