It has been confirmed by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas that either Milan Baros or Fred will leave the club by the end of the month – but not both.
Fred appeared as though he would be staying with Lyon after all, but maybe this will not be the case: ‘It is established between Fred and Baros that one of them will leave the club before the end of the January transfer window.
‘But I cannot say which one as we are still receiving offers for both of them’.
So if Fred stays Milan Baros goes – and probably here – on the face of it? As I had previously suggested with a comment I made, this is what could have been ‘the complicated issue’ that Baros’ agent spoke of?
Another possibility – although unlikely could be that we might try a fresh approach for Fred… this would not appear likely as he never seemed at all interested in our offer. We did have a £9m offer accepted but he never acknowledged us at all.
Worse case scenario will see us miss out all together – then we will be back to square one with time running out, so all being well this will be sorted out by the weekend, the end of it at the latest…
