Pompey Malta on the reports, that have grown and grown, that the fit and proper tests have been passed.

As early as Tuesday morning, newspapers and internet sites are reporting that Al Fahim passed the Fit and Proper Test and is on the verge of buying Pompey.

If all this happens, this means that Pompey will start their new era 3 days before expected, and a few hours before Portsmouth play H&W in what should be the first Pompey match under new ownership. Would that see Crouch and Distin playing for us then? Probably yes, as if uncertainty was their main concern, uncertainty will no longer belong to PFC, at least for now.

Cracking news if this had to be true, which I have a great feeling that it is. From now on, at least in these coming weeks, we can finally get a hand in the transfer market and start getting in new players for this season. Who knows, despite reports that Hart will remain in charge, may well not be our manager for too long.

We have always said that nothing official can be done before Al Fahim is Portsmouth’s owner. So is it time to start breathing again? Well, I guess it is time…to start living once again.

  • As far as managers/transfers is concerned we’ve got to wait and see. All this boring negative rubbish on some of these sites has bored me to tears over the last few weeks. No one really knows until the man speaks about what his vision is…until then its all idle speculation that I bet is 90% fantasy.

  • so important you both said it twice 🙂
totally agree Darren lets just see what Dr SAF has planned – assuming, as i expect it will, all goes through – lets give him a chance to show what he can do, if nothing else this ‘should’ at least save us from something that looked, very, very bad for our future! lets see what he has planned and take it, and back him and PFC, from there. oh and welcome if this is for the first time on vital pompey by the way?

  • its seems we are less popular than Wimbledon of old and Millwall rolled into one, but it looks like we will still be skint….crouch has gone to spurs distan is already at avfc-dont kid yerself..relagation beckons…

  • come on graham what’s the point in even playing this season if the towel has been thrown in… we were skint anyway, more than skint, at least – so long as a price can finally be agreed – we can at least look forward somewhat knowing our future is secure? skint does not mean disaster does it!

  • Still won’t believe it until I see it officially and the rumours are still coming out that although he has passed the F&PP test a number of backers have pulled out because they wanted to remain annonymous.. yeah right like it wasn’t known that they had to be disclosed – If we knew that surely they did ! .. If the takeover is confirmed as true I guess we will now know whether it was Crouch or the club that wanted him to go .. my beating is ‘still’ on Crouch wanting out and whatever the outcome today I still think he’ll go .. Great loyality Peter !.. Oh well today could be interesting but I bet we don’t get the news that it’s time to party just yet .. If there is a party at all. .. All we can do it wait..

  • it occurred to me that SAF ay just be genius, and leaked dubious reports to press himself,

  • We sometimes forget that a few short years ago we were a struggling 2nd division side under John Gregory, flat broke, no future and putting players up for a pound. The stability of the club is vital. I have every faith that even though we wont be able to buy the Tevez’s/Adabayor’s of this world next week that club will get stronger and stronger with this takeover and that qaulity of player will be possible soon. Negative comments from guys like plymouth graham are a complete waste of time. Get behind the takeover, embrace whoever the manager is going to be and roar the boys on every week….we are a 1000 times luckier than most clubs out there.

  • At last and hopefully some positivity. I still don’t believe much investment will be made on the playing side this season but at least we are still playing which is a bonus!

  • The deal will be confirmed once Crouch has been sold by ‘Sasha’. Once he has got his £12m to add to the £18 from the Johnson deal then SAF will be announced as the the new owner. The guy doesn’t want to leave Pompey he is being forced into going as Sasha is asset stripping to get his £30m back. Crouch will be at Fulham or Spurs by the end of the day I reckon, and it wouldn’t surprise me if SAF is at Havant ……alright maybe not at Havant but announced either tonight or in the morning

  • I wish Crouch all the best if he’s on his way. He did a pretty good job last year but I reckon we have a player or two lined up who will do and even better job.

  • blarmy, completely agree with you and said the same on another article yesterday. PC gone = PFC SOLD

  • lots of speculation, i won’t get excited about it until it’s actually announced and we’ve started building for the season, there’s been far too much C**p spouted as supposed news in the last 2 months. Assuming that it is announced do we think a certain mr Custiss will be looking for a new job? He shouldn’t bother applying for the press officers position at Pompey thats for sure.

  • Well The Quay were the first to say that it would be in the next 24 hours, and it does coinside with the launch of the new kit. Perhaps they have brought the date forward knowing that there is unrest in the fans and perhaps they are planning a protest tonight? I will be one happier person when it is all done and dusted and we can get back to just transfers and looking forward to the next season.
