10 up for Nuge, can he make 15?

Dave Nugent has reached the 10 goals that he set himself as a target before the season kicked-off – he now wants more…

15 is now his next aim and, putting aside the countless chances he will miss, there must be a ‘decent chance’ that he can make this, right?

I would say that he, despite scoring some belters to be fair, has missed enough ‘really good’ chances for it to be 20 by now already!

He is aiming high for a league finish too…

13pts off the play-offs, even with a game in hand, is a mighty lot to ask for us to catch-up but he (like cornypomphere) is optimistic, as he told The Pompey Site, about our chances of making to top 6: ‘we got the three points and now we’re 13 points off the play-offs with a game in hand over a lot of sides.

‘We’re not giving up. We’ve won the last three and drew one before that, so we’re in good form and can hopefully take that into the Ipswich match on Saturday.

‘We’re beating the teams around us in the table and now we’re starting to look upwards instead of behind us.’

We are really going to have to go some to make this but a draw, or a win, at Ipswich on Saturday and then wins over Scunthorpe and Sheff United in our next games to follow ‘could’ make it interesting…

Although, to be honest, I still think it is unlikely and will be more than happy with survival in this league this season, which is starting to look almost sorted.

So then guys, its over to you. Do you…

a) think that Nugent can make the 15 goals he wants?
b) think we can sneak into the play-offs like he hopes we will?
