Its such a hard life being a professional footballer, more to the point a multi-millionaire footballer, isn’t it!

‘Poor’ Tal Ben-Haim is so hard done by these days, he is ‘helping us’ by agreeing to a wage deferral that sees him bring home a mere £20,000 a month now…

To be fair we all (mostly!) live to your means so taking a £30,000 hit each week, so £120,000 a month, is quite an amount to be missing out on but I suspect he has more than enough money stashed away to be able to get by…

He has cried to sky sports that he is doing all he can to help us and by picking up his ‘paltry wage’ that he currently gets but the guy is missing the point!

The way he talks you would think that he will not get the money and we should be grateful to him for taking this deferral! Does he not realise that he is secured and a deferral is just a delay in him getting his money.

Had he not taken this deferral, along with other players, then Portsmouth Football Club almost certainly would not exist in its current guise as it would have been liquidated already and then he would have lost money…

Ridiculous money or not, what we have to remember is that they were offered contracts and are entitled to this money but what TBH needs to start realising – and others that are holding out on agreeing to end their contracts mutually and/or simply moving on with offers that they have had made to them – is that he would help us a darn site more if he just left without a ludicrous ‘pay-off’ demand of £2m!

Whatever he is owed will be paid to him, if he would come to a reasonable compromise now what is still to be paid to him in the future (the final year of his contract) would go a long, long way towards actually HELPING this football club that he professes to want to…
