‘It is too soon to say if The Herminator will play football again’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I WANT to agree with but am not entirely convinced will be the case to be honest…

It was a cruel, cruel blow to both Pompey and of course The Herminator to not only have his chances of a return to Wembley destroyed but also his season, and potentially career, ended by his Achilles injury sustained at Spurs last weekend.

Avram Grant said that he has been playing with an ankle injury for a number of weeks so this ‘probably’ did not help, although this goes to show just how committed The Herminator is, and has been, to the club this season – as he has for sometime to be fair.

The guy did not deserve to see his Pompey career, and perhaps his career full stop, to be ended in such a way – if this proves the case?

Although at his age, and he will be around 36-years-old by the time he has recovered enough to even think of playing again, perhaps this is the end of the line and a coaching career awaits a man that is as crazy as a junkyard dog.

It would be fantastic to see him play again, and even better for this to be for us next season, as we WILL need characters like him around, so all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and wish him well…

  • What the poll asked – Not nice I know, but do you think The Herminator will play again?

  • How you voted – Really not sure, too soon to say 37%
Nope – at his age probably not 32%
Yep – he’ll be back, with Pompey! 20%
    Yep – he’ll be back! 8%
Depends how much he wants it 3%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
