Aaron Mokoena has admitted that his ‘heart’ still belongs to Pompey, although ‘reported’ offers from the premier league and abroad have left him with some thinking to do…

He says, as quoted on sky sports, that 3 premier league clubs – with West Ham and Bolton ‘said’ to be among them, a couple of Qatari and one from Turkey have all shown an interest in him.

So, he will ‘assess’ the situation before deciding what to do: ‘I have to confess my heart is still there at Portsmouth and they are offering me a new contract if I remain with the club.

‘I can confirm that there are a number of offers from several big clubs – three in the English Premiership, two in Qatar and one in Turkey.

‘There are a number of things I am still assessing, though, and I will decide sometime next week.’

Moko was a figure of ridicule from his early days at Fratton but he became a cult hero by the time last season ended.

I, along with many others I am sure, would really like the guy to stay, and from the sounds of it this is something he would do. I guess a lot depends on what happens at the end of this week?

That said even if, well I should say when, HMRC appeal this may not ‘necessarily’ impact on his decision, although you would think it would play a big part in it…

Come on Moko, follow your heart and stay with us – where else would you get this sung about you: ‘who needs a Messi when you’ve got a Mokoena!’

A player that ‘almost certainly’ will not be here next season, according to further ‘reports’, is Tal Ben-Haim as he will complete a move to West Ham or an ‘unnamed’ Greek club by the end of the week.

Further ‘reports’ are saying that David James has been given 24-hours to accept a player-coach contract on offer…although it is also ‘said’ that a ‘coaching role’ is not part of the contract anyway?
