An article from Pompeytim, originally posted in the forum, asking ‘what was most important to people in their manager?’ Read on for more.

Pompeytim, with his forum post originally (here), asks this…

Hello folks,

Our man Cotts drew out lots of different opinions.

I took the view that he was an arrogant nob. I thought his football was generally dull. However I felt that any manager needs time.

Now that he has gone, I see a lot of Different suggestions for the next manager. Some suggestions I don’t understand, some I do.

It made me wonder what was most important to people in their manager.

Well these are just a few suggestions as to what people might be looking at in ‘the gaffer’, with Tim offering up these opinions…

Attacking football (even if leaking a few)
Personality / charisma
Youth development skills
Track record with other clubs
Attachment to the club (eg ex-player)
Nationality (I.e. English)
Big name in the game
