29th April 2006, Pompey were travelling to the JJB stadium in Wigan looking to secure Premiership status for a fourth term, the odds had been stacked against them since being bottom around Christmas. On the day we secured the vital win with a first goal for Benjani and a cooly slotted Matt Taylor penalty, the fans went wild, we came home and thought of the season ahead, would D’Allesandro sign, would Linvoy squeeze out another season?
Fast forward 364 days and Pompey face Liverpool in another vital clash, this time to stay in a European hunt! D’Allesandro went to Zaragoza, Linvoy squeezed out another season and if anything upped the ante, Harry pulled off a major coup in both James and Campbell, and Pompey announced incredible plans for a futuristic stadium at the Hard.
A year has been an amazing journey for the blues, if we carry on moving forward at this rate the sky is the limit! We may miss out on UEFA this year, but hopefully we have battles for Europe, rather than battles for relegation in the years to come!

Play Up Pompey!
