Pompey were beaten by Stevenage in league two on Saturday.

Despite starting pretty well Pompey were second best for most of the 90 minutes against Stevenage with Jack King, Matt Godden and Jobi McAnuff – who again tormented the Blues as he always does – goals securing the points in a 3-0 win.

Pompey’s miserable afternoon was compounded by the sending off of Christian Burgess and an embarrassing late penalty miss from Conor Chaplin, this was our fifth spot kick miss in a row and seventh of the season.

Thankfully other results – aside from this one obviously – went in Pompey’s favour with Stevenage now our closest rivals having closed to within four points with Plymouth seven clear of the Blues.
