Vargas on his Pompey move;

Vargas told Bocon.com, ‘I am travelling to meet a Portsmouth representative in Madrid with Carlos Delgado (agent). And then we will go to London.

‘Life is full of challenges and this is one I expect to pass. I thank God for the opportunity. I have to pass a medical and then sign. After that I will return to Peru to sort some things out and see my family.

‘English football is very competitive, but I am sure I will adapt quickly and maintain a high standard. Don’t know much [about Portsmouth]. I know that they were fighting relegation last season but they are trying to build a good team for this season,’ he added.

Solano revealed, ‘Ten days ago a person called me that works directly with the Portsmouth manager. As the person and as player he is excellent.’

Vargas responded saying,’That motivates me a lot. Nol is a player that has succeeded in English soccer and I am going to try to do the same thing.’

Peter Storrie was the representative who met the player. (Flying to London means that we don’t have to show him the stadium!) Peter and Vargas will meet Sacha at his London apartment.
