Toddy Stays and Plays

Harry Redknapp has crushed rumours that Todorov will be following Andy Cole out the door. Cole has joined Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season, which has re-opened the door for a Toddy comeback.

Harry Redknapp said;

‘I’m happy with what I’ve got. I’ve got four strikers to choose from. I’ve got Toddy, Benjani, Lualua and Kanu, so I’m okay.

‘This time last year I had only two fit strikers – Toddy and Benjani. We’ve got eight games left, and Toddy will be involved.He’s had his share of injuries this season, but he’s fit now.’

Todorov has other concerns with his Fratton Park contract running out at the end of the season. The striker desperately wants his contract to be renewed with a club he “loves” playing for.

Toddy said;

‘I’m surprised Andy Cole is going. It’s been frustrating for me not playing. When I’ve been given the chance, I’ve scored goals.

‘We’ll see what happens now – hopefully I will get a chance. I love playing for Pompey and have always tried my best. I don’t care who I play alongside – they’re all good strikers.

‘As for my future, everything is up in the air because my contract expires at the end of the season. We’ll see what happens.’

In my personal opinion, I don`t think the club will not renew his contract. Although like 99% of Pompey fans I do admire him? I`m under no allusions that he`s the answer to our problems. We need two or three top class forwards and I currently see none. Come the end of the season I would allow Todorov, Kanu and Cole to leave (maybe even Lua?)

What do you think?
