Mr Capello has named his squad to face Spain in Seville on Wednesday night and despite our recent form he has included Pompey’s Three Lions

Having equalled Gary Speed’s all time Premier League appearance record yesterday David James is in line to get his 46th cap

Glen Johnson meanwhile will hopefully receive his 11th in the Right Back berth he seems to be making his own.

With Defoe, Rooney and Owen all missing up front Fabio has named just four strikers, the most lethal (statistically) being Peter Crouch. Whether Crouchy will start is debatable but with the other selections being Heskey (5 goals in 50 apps), Agbonlahor (1 cap only) and the uncapped Charlton Cole I will be surprised if our big Centre Forward does not feature at some stage. After all his England record is quite impressive with 14 goals in 30 appearances.

Elsewhere in the squad Becks returns with nine other players who were not involved in England’s last game – That 2-1 victory over Germany in Berlin. Beckham of course in line to equal Bobby Moore’s all time appearance record

Everton’s Phil Jagielka will be looking to win his 2nd cap after impressing with his recent form and another form player Villa’s James Milner will be looking to win his first.
