‘Jamie O’Hara should be the Pompey penalty taker’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I would not be against, but would not necessarily have him as my number one spot kick taker to be honest…

Yep, I do not think that O’Hara would be a bad penalty taker – far from it but someone that seems to have nerves, and balls, of steel is ideal for penalties, so I guess that makes The Herminator ideal, right?

He showed in Asia a couple of years back that he can take them and his strike against Burnley was that of a striker!

Even so, for me, I think I would go for Younes everyday of the week as I think if he just stood up and lashed the ball, as he often does with free kicks, he would not go far wrong.

Boateng has the confidence but I just do not think that he has the finishing ability to be a regular penalty taker, I would not be overly confident that he would score, I was not against Stoke and he missed, nor was I against Manyoo and he did – Dindane, well, enough said…

All in all I cannot really think of many alternatives in the current set-up though!

  • What the poll asked – Who would YOU want to see taking our penalties?

  • How you voted – O’Hara 30%, Hreidarsson 22%, Boateng 20%, Kaboul 18%, Someone else 8%, Dindane 2%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
