Following a statement issued on The Pompey Site from Peter Storrie himself this morning the club have now issued one that says he has the full support of the board – who will assist him in any way.

The statement said: ‘the owner, Ali Al Faraj, the executive board and senior management of Portsmouth Football Club remain fully supportive of the club’s chief executive officer Peter Storrie.

‘The club has been fully co-operative with all enquiries from all parties. We will help in any way possible in assisting Peter to defend the allegations and to help clear Peter’s name at the earliest possible opportunity.

‘Peter Storrie has been a respected figure in football for 20 years and a key figure in the rise of Portsmouth Football Club in becoming an established Premier League club during his seven years’ service.’

Right, Storrie has said his piece and the club there part so, and without sounding heartless, lets just hope that we do not hear anything else about this in the build-up to the Hull game – that could quite literally make or break out season?

As previously said, and again whilst I do not want to appear heartless, the priority for me is to ensure that Portsmouth Football Club is no longer affected by off the field events so this dragging on and acting as a distraction is not something that I want, and clearly feel we do not need.

I am, to coin a phrase, ‘astonished’ that if charges have been brought against people that Storrie is deemed the only party in this issue worthy of this, although of course being charged does not mean guilty – this has to be proven. But, and without being privy to all the ins and outs it seems a farce that everyone else seems to be getting off scot-free…

Why, oh why does this keep happening every week? We keep having games that are vitally important and other factors keep getting in the way to overshadow our preparations!
