Dejan Stefanovic has left Pompey to sign for Fulham.

The former Pompey captain has been destined for a Pompey exit for a few months now and has this morning completed his £1m move to Fulham, signing a 2 year contract – subject to successfully being granted a work permit.

It is sad to see him leave, but I think that most people will agree that Stefanovic’s best days are behind him. It is also very good business by the club, considering that after 5 years – with his best years being here – we have still got back more than half we paid when we signed him, for a then club record.

This is a really good move for him as it is not far for him to go, so it will not cause him and his family much disruption. He is a top bloke and a top professional who will do a good job at Fulham.

I wish the fella nothing but the best and thank him for the great service he gave this club, as I am sure everyone else would echo.

So it is now one in – Glen Johnson – and one out – Dejan Stefanovic – so far for the day, but you would not bet against more dealings.
