A ‘Pompey insider’ has been ‘busy’ speaking to ESPN Soccernet today.

They ‘claim’ that Spurs are ‘favourites’ to re-sign Younes Kaboul: ‘yes, we are working on a deal with Spurs, but yes it is pretty complex.

‘Spurs look favourite to sign Kaboul but five clubs have shown interest, three from the Premier League, Spurs, Manchester City and Sunderland.’

It would be a bizarre deal, ‘if’ it came off as Spurs, who we still own money for Kaboul – £2m according to ESPN, although this valuation various with others – had a ‘sell on fee clause’ inserted into his contract, as seems to have been the case with just about every player we have bought and sold over the years…

So, Spurs would pay us for him, minus what we owe them I guess, but then get a cut of that transfer fee they pay anyway!
