‘Not signing Mark Viduka was the right thing for Pompey to have done’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I agree with…

Yep, we are struggling to score goals, and yep perhaps the ‘big man’ would have tucked away some of the chances that we missed, which ‘could’ have made all the difference but would he have even been fit enough, or injury free, to have played the games we would have needed him too?

I maintain my thoughts that he would not have been ‘match fit’ for several months after his lack of pre-season, and also feel that his ‘injury problems’ made him too much of a liability and a risk, financially – unless it was a pay as you play deal, which he would not have agreed to – to take on.

His ‘apparent’ demands of £30,000-£40,000 per week and 2-year contract were both things that I also feel made it right for us to have said no, not that we would seriously have paid that anyway, would we…

So, all in all, yep we need goals and perhaps he ‘might’ have got us some, but for me we were right not to sign him – if we actually ever had any serious intention to do so anyway?

  • What the poll asked – We laughed at Viduka joining, given our (lack of) success in front of goal should we have signed him?

  • How you voted – Not on ya nelly Sheila 54%, Who cares.. Throw another prawn on the Barbie 28%, Too right Bruce 15%, Don’t really know Kylie 3%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
