I know that some opinions of David Cotterill have varied during his loan spell, to date, but I think the guy has done ‘ok’.

So, with that in mind, ‘if’ we can get Swansea to agree to extend his loan then I would be happy enough with this.

His delivery at times, especially from set pieces, has been below par but to be fair to him I have seen him put in plenty of fantastic balls into the box in open play – the problem has been that the ‘strikers’ are not getting on the end of these…

Cotterill has offered a decent work rate too and has built up a decent partnership with Ritchie de Laet, especially at Fratton. Away from home this has not been as strong for me, although you do not go as ‘all guns blazing’ in an away game do you!

Without a doubt I think that we can safely say that he has offered as much, at least, as John Utaka would have, and at a much lower cost of wages too!

I cannot see him getting into the Swansea starting 11, ok perhaps back into their matchday squad, but he is playing 1st team football here regularly so it makes sense for him to stay, assuming Swansea will allow this, which I would ‘think’ that they will.

All signs ‘seem’ to point towards his loan being extended, so if we can do this until the end of the season why not as it will benefit everyone.
