Latest from The News on Mark Viduka is that the Aussie is ‘holding out for a better deal’ from Pompey.

He wants a 2-year contract at £40,000 per week according to his agent but we have offered ‘a mere’ £30,000 per week on a 1-year deal – some would argue that even that is too much!

I suggest that he continue sailing around the Greek islands, or wherever it was he was off sailing…

Whilst we cannot expect to offer him ‘peanuts’ and get a deal I do not think that he is really in a position to be asking for ‘dry roasted’ as opposed to ‘plain salted’, Viduka either wants to play for Pompey or he does not – basically it is that simple!

And I think ‘if’ the ‘reported’ £30,000 per week really is on the table that is more than ample, right?

Clearly, at this juncture, we need players but we also need players that are not going to be looking to come in on ‘big money’, if big money is what Viduka is after he has a couple of hopes, and one is no hope!

Leave him on the scrap heap if he will not accept what we offer…

PLAY UP POMPEY!
