Redknapp appreciative of support

Harry Redknapp has told the Pompey site how much he appreciated the reception and support he received at the weekend: ‘it was a lovely reception – the support I received was fantastic.

‘Some people just assume you have done something wrong.

‘But I have done nothing wrong and the general reaction I have had from people has been great’.

Firstly let me make it clear that I do not think that anyone thought he was guilty, or that people were not supportive of Redknapp but to be honest I was slightly disappointed with the overall support that he got at the weekend…

Sporadic chants of ‘there’s only one Harry Redknapp’ and ‘Harry Redknapp’s blue and white army’ did break out, but these – from where I was sat anyway – only seemed to come from certain sections of the crowd and not everyone seemed willing to join in and they soon petered out.

Then again in all honesty we probably have not heard these songs anywhere near as much as we once used to, as like it or not – and I do not – some people still cannot get past his stint down the road can they?

Also, the impression that I seemed to get was these only came in response to songs the blue scousers sang aimed at Redknapp – but then again the atmosphere, much like our 2nd half showing seemed as flat as I have known it for some time…
