Aston Villa v West Ham, 15:00
New signing Shaun Maloney is in the squad, fellow recent arrivals John Carew and Ashley Young should make home debuts. Martin Laursen (knee) could return

Matthew Upson will make his West Ham debut after his deadline day signing but Danny Gabbidon, James Collins (both groin); Anton Ferdinand (calf) and Lucas Neill (ankle) are out.

Blackburn v Sheff Utd, 15:00
David Dunn is in line to play his first game since returning to Blackburn. Zurab Khizanishvili is set to return from injury but Andy Todd and Brett Emerton are doubtful.

Chris Morgan (suspension) returns but Matt Kilgallon (ankle) Luton Shelton (short of match fitness) miss out.

Charlton v Chelsea, 15:00
New signing Madjid Bougherra (calf strain) misses out but Andy Reid (hamstring) could return with Alexandre Song on loan from Arsenal likely to make a debut. Darren Bent (knee) will probably miss out as could Luke Young.

John Terry (back and calf) returns after injury but Ashley Cole (damaged ligaments) is out so Wayne Bridge will come in.

Fulham v Newcastle, 15:00
Chris Coleman is likely to give the players that put in the worst performance of the season in midweek another chance, so changes are unlikely.

New signing Oguchi Onyewu is added to the squad and Nolberto Solano (suspension) returns. Nicky Butt (knee) should be fit to feature.

Liverpool v Everton, 12:45
Fabio Aurelio (foot) injury is out while Mohamed Sissoko (shoulder) is not ready for a return. Bolo Zenden (ankle) does return and new Alvaro Arbeloa could be in the squad.

Tony Hibbert and Andrew Johnson require late fitness tests. While former Pompey loanee Manuel Fernandes could make an Everton debut.

Man City v Reading, 15:00
Midweek arrival Michael Ball, another player linked with Pompey previously could make his City debut but Nedum Onuoha (knee) and Trevor Sinclair (groin) are out.

Michael Duberry could make a debut as Ibrahima Sonko (knee ligament) will be out for the season. Shane Long (thigh) requires a fitness test but reported former Pompey target Greg Halford will make the squad following his midweek arrival.

Middlesbrough v Arsenal, 17:15
Mark Viduka (hamstring strain) should return to partner Yakubu. South Korean signing Lee Dong-gook could feature.

Emmanuel Eboue (ankle) and Abou Diaby (knee) are out but Emmanuel Adebayor (knee) and Johan Djourou (hamstring) are fit. Freddie Ljungberg, William Gallas, Alexander Hleb, Julio Baptista and Robin van Persie are out long term

Watford v Bolton, 15:00
Dan Shittu, Malky Mackay, Gavin Mahon and Ben Foster will return while new signings Steven Kabba, Lee Williamson, Gareth Williams and Douglas Rinaldi could be given home debuts.

Henrik Pedersen could again fill in up front with Nicolas Anelka (calf) and Kevin Davies (ankle) both injured. El Hadji-Diouf (suspension) returns but Abdoulaye Faye (hip) is doubtful.

Tottenham v Man Utd, 16:00
Ledley King (metatarsal) is out so Ricardo Rocha may come in if Anthony Gardner makes way. Aaron Lennon (illness) could return but Teemu Tainio (ankle) is out with Dimitar Berbatov (groin).

Louis Saha (knee) is back and could replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer alongside Wayne Rooney, although Henrik Larsson’s goal in midweek will help his cause.
