We run the risk of being confronted by the ‘bare bones’ speech from Harry Redknapp but according to sky sports he is prepared to let Martin Cranie go out on loan…

There has been plenty of talk over the past 48-hours or so about Redknapp needing to get rid of some players so that he could sign others – but at the same time saying he was short of number – and Cranie has been mentioned as one who could go, but the suggestion is that he would be loaned out to either Charlton or Coventry, rather than sold.

With the numbers low as it is, and the barometer leaning towards the dreaded ‘bare bones’ speech already I would see loaning Cranie out as a strange move – although loans do generate some money though, but would find selling him an equally strange one as he is a fella that I believe has a very big future ahead of him. There were some ‘rumours’ of a bust up between the pair earlier in the summer but how true I do not really know to be honest?

That said things do not always work out as planned, step forward Mr Richard Duffy! Maybe we could sell him, loan him, hell, why not give him away even instead! Maybe Charlton might want Djimi Traore back as well…
