As we moved very much in the home straight, Pompey’s season continued with a dramatic 3-3 draw at Rochdale last Saturday.

The trip to Spotland was always going to be tough; we faced a side fighting to stay in League One, who had come into some form when really needed. Clearly, another win was wanted, but a point was a good one.

How crucial could Matt Done’s own goal be? However, the Rochdale game is gone so we move forward and go again against Plymouth tomorrow.

Kenny Jackett opted to start with this XI last time.

Thompson (Kennedy 60′)
Evans (Hawkins 72′)
Naismith (O’Keefe 60′)

Changes will be made, certainly one of them as versatile Spurs loanee Anton Walkes is definitely missing due to injury. His place is up for grabs and I tend to think Stuart O’Keefe will be the one to come in.

Should Jackett make more if he isn’t forced into doing so? There’s the prospect of Brandon Haunstrup coming back at left back and Dion Donohue reverting to a midfield spot, Conor Ronan is another option. However, as on-loan Cardiff midfielder O’Keefe would add experience and steel to the middle of the park, potentially keeping things tighter, I reckon it’ll be him.

All being well the Blues aren’t going to pick up any late knocks so it’ll only be Walkes forced to sit out due to injury.

Whatever, I wouldn’t have thought Jackett will change too much, but the side he goes with is going to have to show improvement at Home Park against a Plymouth side in amazing form – what a big game this is.

  • Got to be O’Keefe that comes in surely? If we were going to really attack I’d have Ronan back in, but we’ll look to keep it as tight as we can, so that has to mean O’Keefe starts, right?
