Pompey’s season ticket sales flying

It looks as if promotion back into League One agrees with Pompey as portsmouthfc.co.uk has reported sales of close to 1,500 already.

Having gone on sale this week the amount sold so far is almost double that Pompey fans had purchased at the same period of sales last year – it looks like the Blues will be able to match season ticket numbers from 2016-17, better them in 2017-18 perhaps?

The increase in prices, which was a must – admittedly it was greater than I expected – doesn’t appear to have put off the masses. I’m guessing an easier online ticketing system is also playing a part.

Details of sales so far and how to go about getting your season ticket for the League One season were released in this portsmouthfc.co.uk statement.

Seats for League One campaign proving popular

Fans have flocked to secure their seat for the 2017/18 campaign on the first day of season ticket sales.

Almost 1,500 have already been sold – more than double the amount snapped up at this stage last year.

The Frogmore Road ticket office will reopen from 10am on Thursday, but fans can still phone our dedicated Ticketmaster call centre on 0844 847 1898, which is open daily from 8am-8pm (8am-6pm on weekends).

And supporters are able to buy or renew season tickets whenever is convenient for them by using our new eticketing system – the easiest and most cost effective way to purchase.

Having not done so yet, despite my usual protestations and wrestling with the ‘justification of the cost’ of a continued season ticket – more so the train fare and journey’s involved in my roundtrip journeys from Devon – I will almost certainly renew as usual.
