Pompey recorded their first away win of the season tonight, liam Lawrence tucked away another cool penalty after Nugent was bought down in the box, Pompey are up to 15th in the table just a month after being bottom, the top half looks in touching distance now!

Greg Halford made his debut after finally getting the green light for his switch, Joel Ward slipped to the bench, Sonko came in for the suspended Mokoena, Utaka reclaimed the left berth from Ciftci.

The match got off to a scrappy if open start, Dickinson setting the tone going in the book in the first few minutes.

Millwall had the first couple of sniffs, Ashdown snuffed both efforts out though and is really growing with every game he plays.

Sonko was a familiar sight on his return, powerful in the air, yet a little careless with the ball on the floor.

Ricardo Rocha limped off just after the half hour, this gave Joel Ward the chance to step back into the fray early, Halford moved to the centre to fill the void, hopefuly the Portugese hasn’t damaged the hamstring too badly.
Halford was putting his long throws to ready use, the were an asset in clearing the defence and in setting up in attacks, inspired no doubt was Ward who showed a few good launches of his own.

As the half drew out, Nugent had a golden chance, a mistake saw him left one-on-one, but like so often in his career he never threatened the goal, declining to shoot with his left, cutting back to his right and losing the chance when he could of slotted in Lawrence.

Second half and Pompey had uped their game, Millwall were looking uncomfortable and the home fans were starting to turn as Pompey got on top.

Kitson almost scored with a lob and Utaka was looking lively once more.
The magic moment arrived on 78 minutes, Nugent burst into the box and was taken by Hackett, a clear penalty in anyone’s book.
Liam Lawrence has instilled confidence when he has faced from 12 yards, he made little error again, powering home and giving Pompey the lead with time ticking out.
Millwall pressed, but the chances were not to come, Pompey had a first win on the road, and a fourth in 5 games!
