Pompey – along with 4 other Premiership clubs – are to be ‘named and shamed’ according to early reports in the mighty Daily Mirror today.

The findings of Lord Stevens’ 14 month inquiry are ‘understood’ to have found Pompey – with Boro and Newcastle a couple of other clubs named – guilty of breaching transfer regulations. The Premier League are now said to be preparing a joint inquiry with the FA with a compliance unit heading up the next stage of the process.

Where this leaves Pompey, I do not honestly know but I am not overly concerned really – that is not in a sense that I do not care concerned, just to clarify.

It has been confirmed – as much as anything the Mirror says can be confirmed – that no formal charges will be brought today though.

Willie Mckay – an agent Pompey fans will know well – is one of several agents in the spotlight. Pompey, Newcastle and Boro all have, or have had players playing for them who are under his representation.
