The Rabbi answers some questions for Vital Pompey as we focus on the members over the summer months.

I know it was a miserable season, overall, and reflecting on parts of it will be the last thing you want to do but we had to take one for the team!

So, sum up the 2009/10 season in 3 words?
Championship football. Hooray!

What was your season highlight?
Coventry away in the Cup. A brilliant away day. Tottenham in the semi-final close behind.

12-months ago things were meant to be looking ‘a lot brighter’ with SAF taking over, we all know this panned out! Charlatans come and gone and we are where we are now. But what are your hopes for our future?
That SAF never returns to Fratton Park ever again. Beyond that I can’t see anyone mug enough to waste their money on buying Pompey after the events of last season. I wouldn’t.

Lets be honest, not much, if anything will come through the Fratton gates player wise this summer. Even so, who, realistically, would you like us to sign this summer? Taking into account we will spend little, or no money, assuming we are not under a continued transfer embargo anyway…
Sign anyone? I don’t think so. In a dream world I’d like to bring back Sulley Muntari and Lassana Diarra but that isn’t going to happen. I’d also sign David Wright of Coventry as a way of thanking him for his sparkling contribution to our cup run last season.

Several will go for sure, but who would be the player that you would choose to sell if you could anyway, and why?
I’d like to sell Danny Webber to Southampton for £10m. Do I need to explain why?

And the player that you would love us to keep at Fratton Towers if we could, and why?
Richard Hughes, a player who I have always thought was better suited to the Championship.

What are you hoping for from Pompey in the 2010/11 season?
That they get more points than games played.

How many Pompey games do you expect to attend?
I decide on whether to attend matches 24 hours before a match. No idea.

Finally, as it is a world cup summer how do you think England will do?
A few wobbles in the Group stage but we will qualify. Very shaky in a narrow 2nd round win then dominate the quarter-final but lose thanks to a predictable defensive error or our inability to take penalties. What ever happens I blame Jamie Carragher.
