We can now see what pompeycook had to say when asked a few questions about Pompey, the season just gone and the one ahead along with the ‘possible’ future ahead.

Vital Pompey has previously brought you the ‘knowing me knowing you series’ – which is still running, so others will be added and if you want to do one just email – and we had the ‘talking Pompey with’ series last summer, this now returns under a new name and some fresh questions as ‘Pompey talk with’…

pompeycook was asked 6 questions about the 2008/09 season and what the hopes are for the 2009/10, one and indeed our future, is.

This is what they said…

  • So, sum up the 2008/09 season in 3 words?
The good the bad and the damn right ugly.

  • Suddenly things seem ‘a lot brighter’ for Pompey with Dr SAF taking over – what are your hopes/aspirations under the new ownership? Assuming everything goes through!
Well I hope we can get a 40,000 seater stadium built on Horsea Island to host the 2018 world cup, presuming we get it. The training ground gets underway and also spend time developing players in the academy. I hope we buy some good players, and if so make a statement like Manchester City and buy a big player.

  • Which players – that we could realistically sign – would you like to see arrive this summer?
    David Bentley
    Per Mertesacker
    Jesus Navas
    Manuel Fernandes
    Cambiasso

  • If you had to select 1 player to ‘sell’ or ‘release’ this summer who would it be and why?
It would have to be David nugent. Yes he’s scored a few this season but we could get at least get 4 million from his sale witch I think could be re-invested somewhere else.

  • What are you hoping for from Pompey in the 2009/10 season?
I’m hoping for a mid table finish possibly in the Europa League spots because I think we are a big enough team to be there and should be finishing (with no disrespect because they’ve done well) higher than Fulham and Wigan or even Bolton.

  • How many Pompey games do you expect to make during that season?
Well I am busy this year, at least half of them possibly less but I’ll watch them on telly or listing on 107.4 The Quay.

Thanks to pompeycook for answering these.

    PLAY UP POMPEY!
