We all knew which of the out-of-contract players were being released, and also knew the loanees from last season had returned to their parent clubs but Pompey have today officially confirmed, on the Pompey Site, that 5 players have gone off the payroll today.

Noe Pamarot, Lauren, Glen Little, Djimi Traore and Jerome Thomas have been confirmed as ‘being released.’

Being blunt for a minute we are not going to miss any of them are we, lets be honest!

Pamarot is the only one that had been a ‘serious’ 1st team contender last season, most of the others, in particular Lauren and Traore have been nothing short of ‘money grabbers’ for too long! The Cameroonian should have been told to pack his bags and leave in January after his outburst, if need be we should have paid him up there and then instead of allowing him to show his face round the training ground, albeit only every now and again…

Either way, good luck to the lot of them.

It was also again confirmed, although officially this time, that Kanu and Sol Campbell are still players that ‘could’ well have a future at Pompey, The King almost certainly so.
