6 points from the first 6 games – 2 worse than we predicted, but still a great result from playing the top 4 sides.
16 points from 6 games – 3 more than we predicted, and a great return from tough away games against Newcastle and Blackburn – and just 2 points dropped against an impressive West ham side.
22 points from 12 games – 1 more than predicted – and an extremely good result for us, and we couldn’t honestly have hoped for a better start!
Pompey have been flying high this season, nestling 5th in the table (although Liverpool and Blackburn have a game in hand) – and there have been suggestions that we could be the ones to crack the top 4. Alan Shearer has suggested, various newspapers have – in fact; the only people not to suggest it are Portsmouth fans (and spurs fans, who maintain it will be them).
So the question is, how many points can we get from tough away games against Birmingham, Aston villa and Liverpool, and equally challenging home games against high flying Man City, Everton, and a Tottenham side who look in need of some good results?
