The Everton and Wigan chairmen had reportable been the ones to report Portsmouth and West Ham to the Premier League. He told the Daily Mail;
‘If anyone has broken the rules they should have points deducted.’
Vital Pompey can confirm that Portsmouth are in the clear. The player in question was Manuel Fernandes who signed on loan in the summer. Portsmouth however insist, that they only agreed to loan the player from Benfica.
Peter Storrie (chief executive who did the deal) spoke directly to the club and players agent. If Fernandes shouldn`t have been playing then Benfica would be the club in the wrong.
Peter said;
“It is total rubbish we are not involved, as we had a loan with Benfica only and no third party.”
There has currently been no comment from West Ham regarding fielding an ineligible player.
