A one-man team? Absolutely not, however, there’s no doubting how crucial Brett Pitman has been to Pompey this season.
His return from injury has seen him regularly in the goals again, helping us to collect crucial points at a vital stage of the campaign.
Pitman’s goals also saw him pick up the PFA Player of the Month award for March.

Yours truly put out a rare tweet, which is an area I really must get more in-tune with these days.
Given the amount of goals he contributed, how important these were for #Pompey too, it isn't a surprise. Well deserved, keep the goals coming Brett #PFC #bluearmy #PUP

His award was met with glee from others too, who feel Pitman certainly deserved this, including the following.
WE LOVE YOU BRETTTTTT

Well deserved! Hes been so important since coming back from injury. #Fanpower #Pompey #HitmanPitman

However, not all agreed as one tweeter questioned if Pitman’s award was actually justified?!
He’s scored a few tap ins and covered an average distance of 2.4km per game. Not sure this is justified.

Oh well, each to their own I guess.
Having broken the 20-goal barrier this season – a rarity for a Pompey player in the modern era – if Pitman can keep these goals coming there is every chance more awards will come the way of the captain. More importantly, points will too!
Nicely done Brett, well deserved. Another goal, brace or even a hat-trick – you never know – at Plymouth on Saturday could do very nicely and potentially help us to a big win, which would be the perfect way to celebrate such an accolade.
