Pennymoon returns with her latest offering – from a very happy and still somewhat stunned Pennymoon!

The Bravest Fans…

The bravest followers in the land,
Are Portsmouth FC football fans,
Who march the kingdom singing songs
Of fortunes lost, and fortunes won.

We all went off to Wembley,
Our legs were all a-trembley
But not ‘coz we were fearful…
We’d all just had a beer-full!

The bravest followers in the land,
Are Portsmouth FC football fans,
Who won’t lie down and cry ‘No More!’
Just sing out loud whate’er the score!

The match was end to end stuff,
For Spurs fans t’was a bit rough,
Defoe and Crouchy couldn’t score
You Spurs ain’t singing anymore!

The bravest followers in the land,
Are Portsmouth FC football fans,
Who marched to Wembley thousands strong,
To prove that ‘Arry could be wrong!

In extra time we scored a goal,
And felt that we were on a roll,
Then Tottenhams goal was disallowed,
Which really pleased the Pompey crowd!

The bravest followers in the land,
Are Portsmouth FC football fans,
We sing out loud and strong to chant,
Of our respect for Avram Grant!

Then…Glory be! …A Penalty!
It went straight in and we were free,
To dream of Europe once again-
Who knows, maybe AC Milan!

The bravest followers in the land,
Are Portsmouth FC football fans,
To win the cup would be a treat
…But beating Spurs was oh-so-sweet!
