Big Sam Rides Into Town
A blazing sun was beating down
The day Big Sam rode into town
With studded harness and silver spurs
And a Blackburn keyring on his purse
As the Guildhall clock chimed half past two
Avram knew what he had to do
He sent Fred Piquionne out to scout
And see where Sam was hiding out
Freddie followed the trail awhile and then
He cornered Sam in the Milton End
But Sam had a fearsome reputation
For using a four four two formation
Jones and Samba pulled Freddie down
And left him laying on the ground
Left him groaning beside his steed
amongst the grass and the tumbleweed
But Freddie was made of sterner stuff
And he pulled himself up off the rough
Then rode to tell Avram what Sam had done
Avram said nothing, just drew his gun
As a lone bugler played the Great Escape
Avram put on his mask and cape
Mounted his horse of purest white
And rode into the blinding light
But as the Guildhall clock chimed once again
The sun went in and it began to rain
He called in O’Hara and David James
To help put an end to Big Sam’s games
They spotted Big Sam in his big black hat
In where the Blackburn supporters were sat
And shouted to him ‘Are you so brave we wonder
When you’re hiding out there behind Chimbonda!’
Then Big Sam stood up and swore and glowered
Crying ‘Nobody ever calls me a coward!’
We’ll draw at ten paces and then we shall see…’
But before he could finish, the clock struck three
The whistle was blown by the man in black
and Sam was ordered to get right back
Shaking his fist with a touch of hysteria
He had to retire to his technical area
As he ranted and raved at the referee
The faithful watched and most agree
That Big Sam comes over completely barmy
…And we`d rather be Avram Grants Blue Army!
