Seeing Linvoy Primus get on for the final minutes last night made my season, and what an ovation the guy got, an ovation that was richly deserved.

I think you would be hard pushed to find a modern day footballer anywhere throughout the world who would have received the standing ovation and reaction to his every touch that Linvoy did, it was something else.

In a day and age when so many footballers are mercenaries the veteran is anything but this, a real working class hero who has sweated blood and tears for what he has and appreciates all of this taking nothing for granted.

Linvoy is not the best player in the world, far from it, but if only a small proportion of footballers shared his values what a wonderful place the football community would be, strike that if the everyday person in the world had his values what a better place the world would be!

Anyone wanting to know what it feels like to be genuinely loved and worshiped needs only get hold of the coverage of him coming on, playing – and the reaction he got to every touch, and indeed the fans in the build-up to him coming on and how we wanted this…

It was fantastic to see Linvoy pull on the blue shirt again, and if that does prove the final time it is a memory that I will never forget – I bet a few that left early, and I did see some leaving early, will be gutted that they did now as they might have missed there final chance to see him?

Many of these modern day mercenaries could watch and learn from him, as could any youngsters coming through here and if we retain him at the club in the long-term they could have no better role model who could teach them the values and morals, that if more had would make this world a much better place…
