Music to mine – and no doubt countless other peoples ears is the news that Gary Sadler has confirmed on the Pompey Site that Linvoy Primus has not suffered an injury setback and he will now be able to continue his rehabilitation.

Having gone for a scan on his troublesome knee – but not in the same area that he had had surgery on – Sadler confirmed this gave him the all clear: ‘we were concerned that Linvoy might have aggravated the initial injury or got a new problem.

‘But the specialist said there was nothing new to worry about.

‘Hopefully it won’t be too long before he’s back training. He’s feeling quite good and we hope he’s training next week’.

Yep he will still have this battle that we have all to often spoken about to force his way back in, even more so with England international Sol Campbell – ‘England international’ in the same sentance as a Pompey player has a nice ring to it! – and Sylvain Distin in such fine form – but he will rise to this challenge.

All being well he will be fit enough to make his first team return in the league cup match with Blackburn taking place on Halloween.

Speaking of Distin he has told pfcTV that he was sad to have again been overlooked for selection by France, but remains ‘unfazed’ by it. To be honest my thinking is he will do well to get into their national set up now at the age he is, but I would not completely write it off as he is playing as well as anyone at the moment.

Also, in other injury news Papa Bouba Diop will be fit for Wigan at the weekend, having opted for club over country to ensure this would be the case.
