Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

From the Ed

7/2/1932: John Atyeo
7/2/1943: William Brown
7/2/1970: Shaun Murray

Happy birthday to John Atyeo, William Brown and Shaun Murray – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Atyeo and Brown were well before my time and unknown to me. Well, the former is known from what other have previously written for Vital Pompey. Murray escapes me, just cannot place him?

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 14
Won – 5
Drawn – 1
Lost – 8

A decent run of games for me today, I’ve managed a hat trick of them. However, the results weren’t too great from the most recent three.

I claim a win from the victory over Hartlepool at Fratton Park in 2015, but the midweek defeat at St Andrew’s in 2012 against Birmingham came after the loss to Liverpool at Fratton in 2009. I think that defeat was the one that cost Tony Adams his job?

What are your memories of Atyeo – probably before the time of anyone, Brown – possible too early for anyone too – and/or Murray their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
