Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

5/10/1950: Dave Thomas
5/10/1967: Brian Horne
5/10/1983: Shaun Cooper

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Dave Thomas, Brian Horne and Shaun Cooper – the Pompey player from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Thomas was before my time and I cannot claim to know much, if anything about him. Horne was also a player I know plenty about but was with Pompey before I was a regular attendee, so it is the likes of Everton and Wales where I know him best.

Cooper wasn’t a bad player – it didn’t happen during his initial spell but when he returned some years later he did well enough but injuries hurt him and eventually cost him his Blues career I’d say.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 15
Won – 9
Drawn – 3
Lost – 3

I missed the 2013 win over Rochdale as I recall I was away for the christening of my niece that weekend but did go to the 2008 win over Stoke, pretty sure Crouch’s goal was a stunning overhead kick at the Milton end.

What are your memories of Thomas, Horne and/or Cooper from his Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
