Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

5/1/1952: Paul Gilchrist

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Paul Gilchrist – the Pompey player from the Blues’ past born on this day.

I do know of Gilchrist from name but cannot say I saw him in action – not that I can recall anyway – for Pompey.

Now onto the games previously played, ahead of the one at Doncaster tonight.

Played – 12
Won – 8
Drawn – 2
Lost – 2

I recall each of the last three FA Cup ties well – a couple better than one I’d like to forget – but it’s a second day running I draw a blank.

What are your memories of Gilchrist from his Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
