Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

4/1/1915: Leonard Beaumont
4/1/1986: Younes Kaboul
4/1/1993: George Thorne
4/1/1994: Miles Storey
4/1/1995: Adam Webster

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Leonard Beaumont, Younes Kaboul, George Thorne, Miles Storey and Adam Webster – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Beaumont was well before my time – too early for anyone – in fact but I recall Kaboul, Thorne, Storey and Webster very well.

Kaboul – still in the Premier League with Watford I think? – was a very good defender and captain with Pompey wasn’t he. Thorne and Storey had mixed loans with the Blues but both added something – probably Thorne more so – in their time at Fratton Park.

It’s a shame we couldn’t keep hold of Webster a little longer but it was hardly a surprise he is no longer a Pompey player.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 11
Won – 6
Drawn – 2
Lost – 3

Not many games played today and those that have haven’t been that plentiful in the last 20 years or so meaning I draw a blank. However, I do recall a fair few – often FA Cup ties – from this day in history.

What are your memories of Beaumont – too early for anyone, Kaboul, Thorne, Storey and/or Webster from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
